Seattle City Light
Skagit Hydroelectric Project

Partners in Design provided master planning and interpretive design for signage for the new visitor center in Newhalem, Washington documenting the history and current environmental successes of Seattle City Light’s Skagit Hydroelectric Project. Exhibit design planning included developing exhibit themes, narrative of interpretive experiences at the visitor center and multiple additional sites along the Skagit, interpretive format and schematic design for the center and sites, and design and production of additional trail and city directional signage along the Skagit and at selected dam sites.

PID presented the interpetive project’s progress for review to Seattle Design Commission. A model prepared by our office gave the Commission a clear, effective means of evaluating the key concepts and how the exhibit design’s would interact and mesh with the new building design.
