Bellevue Botanical Garden

Partners in Design recently completed the identity design as well as a series of publications and interpretive designs for this important regional botanical garden in Washington State. The project included planning workshops, developing graphic and signage guidelines, establishing interpretive themes for garden signs and developing publications and a comprehensive map.

The Bellevue Botanical Garden contains one of the largest perennial borders in the country—a showpiece—and a primary objective in our graphic program was establishing a better regional awareness of the unique assets and limitations of gardening in Cascadia. Much of the programming at the Garden centers around public education through a regional Waterwise Garden. Design solutions, therefore, needed to convey a balancing of these two varied yet equally important missions of the Garden.
